Web Comic Review ~ Homestuck :D

So Homestuck has been around for quite some time now, but it's been getting more and more popular in my city. So that's why I'm doing a review on it today! Hope you guys enjoy!

About: Now, Homestuck is a very long-LONG-web comic and is a daily task to tend to all on it's own! So the story adds on as it goes, pretty much. But for the most part, this is a story that consists of four kids playing a game that will change time and space as we know it. At first, you think it's just a game that involves the fate of the Earth in the young hands of John, Rose, Dave, and Jane. Oh, but you are so far wrong. It's not even close! The problem with trying to explain this plot is that it'll give too much away and then it's practically pointless for you to read the web comic (which you should!). Now this comic also has a lot of behind the scenes story lines going on. Eternal battles, quests for power, ultimate power, and even alien trolls and zodiac symbols!!! Man, can Hussie (the author) blow your mind! In fact, I was discussing this in earlier chapters with a friend that his writing will really take you on some confusing roads that lead to a mind blowing end.

Review: Now this is one of the most popular web comics on the internet with over 10,000,000,000 people reading (with probably more than that!). This is a great thing, but at the same time I've seen some people drop out of reading it because they feel it's too common and has been blown out of proportion. However, I'm sure that's just what any writer or comic artist would want. I've been to a few conventions for things like Anime or comic, and I can tell you I've failed NOT to see a Homestuck cosplay. While I don't think it's a bad thing, I also think it loosing some members along the way. HOWEVER I think that this makes up with all the other followers; don't you think? Now, no matter how much of a hard-core Homestuck fan you are, you have to admit that the beginning art was not the most detailed. Of course, this is a comic that actually makes you interact and is updated more frequently than any other comic I've ever seen on the internet. So I feel that with all that plus a great storyline, the art isn't much to complain about. Plus, Hussie gets that much better later on with much more detail involved in the art. I always see this to be a pattern with web comics; sometimes the art has something funny about it, but the storyline is ADDICTING (which is the case with Homestuck, I believe) and other times the art is so beautiful it makes angels weep, however the storyline is only average compared to other great writings out there. I don't complain though, I think Homestuck is amazing. If you've ever seen the review done by MasterYorgi on Youtube titled "Dont Read A Web Comic Called Homestuck" I promise it sums it up so much (and is rather hilarious). I'll put a link at the bottom of the blog; I promise you will not be disappointed with his thoughts. Also, this web comic is rather long! If you've ever visited MSPaintAdventures and simply scrolled through the pages, you'd realize that you would have to give up all you weekends and free time just to catch up (I'm almost there!!!). Some have claimed Homestuck to be the Ulysses of Web Comics, and I can see why. It's still ongoing and pages seem to be uploaded every other day! I take this to be a good thing though, because it does mean that you have something to do and that the comic will keep you entertained. And with a writer like Hussie, being so long does not mean that the story repeats or gets boring. In fact, from my experience, it only gets better. One other thing that I love is that this comic is actually interactive! Some parts give you the chance to even PLAY as a character! It's pretty awesome!

Worth the Read: If you're a gamer and you become a dedicated reader, you will definitely like this comic. It's really well written, despite it's very small flaws. I love this comic and I hope that you guys will enjoy it too. WARNING: The comic is split up like a play (in acts) and the first act is mostly setting up stuff, so it is a tad bit boring. DO NOT SKIP THIS! It does come into play later in the story, and if you keep reading, you will see why. I know that the fandom has mainly revolved around trolls as well, but the link I am giving you is the correct one. I know when I started reading I was so confused if it was the right thing because I didn't see any gray people with colorful horns anywhere. Trust me, they get there eventually. If you can't read on the computer for long periods of time, this may not be for you. If you have Epilepsy, there is flashy light parts in some of the comic. I don't know how severe it is for people with the condition, but I have seen that some people did have seizures reading it. Not completely sure on that one, but it's just a warning label. So is this comic worth the read: overall, yes. But again, it's long so be prepared for the long haul! :)

Movie Review ~ Iron Man 3 :333

So I normally wouldn't do a movie review, and I know that this movie has been out for about two weeks now, but I really love Iron Man (favorite :3) so I'm gonna say my personal opinions on the movie.

Pros: So the movie really did show a more vulnerable side of Tony Stark (which was kind of cool) and the plot even had a different tone to it than the previous movies. Also, this movie had way more humor put in it. Of course the previous Iron Man movies had there hilarious moments, but this one had screams in it! I don't want to give away anything to anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet, but for those who have seen it, I love the scene with the little kid in it.  And finally, the graphics were wonderful! I've always loved the Iron Man movie graphics especially when it comes to the suits and all of the holographic scenes in Tony's lab. Now, like I said before, this last Iron Man movie really did show a different side to Tony. It's already given away in the commercials, but Tony goes all PTSD on people's asses in this one. If anyone was wondering why, this is all because of Thor and Loki-

Those little assholes... No, really it's because the they all fell out of the sky and the black hole and all that Avengers shit. So Tony's having some kind of epiphany that "Holly crap, we're not the only ones in the universe thing..." and that's just fucked his shit up. So while Tony is still being the funny, sarcastic and sexy playboy we all know and love, he's still having a lot of freakouts and experiencing major anxiety. Even the plot was a little more serious because of him and Pepper and him realizing shit just got real.

Cons: Now one thing that really pissed me off was the Mandarin. In the books and even in the comics, the Mandarin is someone TOTALLY different!!! Now I can't really say anything without giving too much away (because I know a lot of people who haven't seen this movie yet), but what I will say (and hopefully those who have watched this movie know what I'm talking about) is that this new dude that plays the Mandarin is NOT the same as the original... AT ALL... Here, just to remind everybody what the real Mandarin looked like compared to the new dude...

The plot was good, like I said in the Pros section, and it was cool and all, but it was not anything that ever really happened in the comics, nor in the childhood TV shows some of us grew up watching. So basically, this whole plot is kind of just... Fake. Cool fake, but still... Fake. And that kinda couldn't get out from under my skin throughout the whole movie. Now, here's the other thing, people are wondering whether or not there will be another Iron Man movie. And that' tough to say no, isn't it? For the most part, Marvel seems to make about three movies for one person, and then stop. And for those of you who haven't watched Iron Man three, my advice is to stay for the end of the credits. There's an extra scene that's pretty cool. At the end of the movie, however, it does say that Tony Stark will return. This confuses a lot of fans because they think that another movie is destined to come out. Well, I wish that was true, but it might not happen. This movie came out a bit earlier because the Avengers haven't stopped yet; and you can't have the Avengers without Iron Man. You can have it without Spider Man apparently, but not Iron Man. You see, the Avengers is owned by Disney (I know, I know...) so they can pretty much do whatever they want whenever the fuck they want. Which is great and all, but now all the separate heros that are part of the Avengers have movies that either a) don't exist yet and probably should have existed first or b) have movies out already that seem to take place after the Avengers. This kind of causes a problem for plots and story lines, see what I mean? So when it says that, it pretty much means that he will return... With the Avengers. I really do hope though, deep in my heart, that it means there will be another Iron Man movie. Some people feel that having more than three movies would be crappy. Just look at other movie series that continue on; they don't really turn out so well. But I feel that Iron Man could never get old, and maybe that's just me being biased because Iron Man is my favorite, but I'm sure there's some people out there who could agree. I mean, let's put it this way; some movies are destined to continue, while others should just stop.
Harry Potter: wonderful, it should always continue. Fast and Furious: no... never again... I'm sick of you. Love Guru: please come out with a second one? Ice Age: I loved the first two, not the thirtieth one. Monsters Inc: I'M SO EXCITED FOR THE SECOND ONE! I'VE WAITED EIGHT YEARS! Shrek: NO MORE! YOU WERE GREAT THE FIRST TIME AND MAYBE SECOND! NOT AFTER THAT! THANKS!

See what I mean? So I really do hope that there is another one, because the movie itself had some faults (probably because of the timing with the Avengers movie and it's future ones yet to be made) so another one could really work out those kinks in my opinion.

Well, sorry this came out a little later but thanks for reading!

For all the pics: I found them on Google, I do not own them and give credit to whoever the hell found them!

Web Comic Review ~ Off White

Alright, so today it's all about an awesome web comic called Off White!

About: This web comic is a fantasy that takes place after a horrible ice age, killing thousands of human beings. This is because the white human spirit has died. This is all due to the white wolf spirit; who caused an issue previously (which has not been released so far). He decides, he would rather be a normal wolf down on Earth (or so the plot has lead on so far). This leads to multiple problems as the white wolf spirit enters the normal world and lives with is own pack as a trouble maker. The pack is constantly having to move in order to avoid being hunted by humans who want to extract the white wolf's spirit in order to replace the human. A lot of factors play into this, so I don't wanna give away too much!

Review: This is still an ongoing web comic! So a lot of stuff has not been revealed, which makes this review a bit difficult to do. However, it's really good so far, which is why I am advising it. Now, if you are a fan of Warriors, Balto, or any kind of wolf rpg for that manner, you will like this comic. It has a lot to do with Norse mythology, and the art work is BEAUTIFUL! It's extremely detailed! However, this is probably why it takes so long for the pages to be uploaded. The art is indescribable, style wise, but it really is a work of art. The storyline is also very interesting. There seems to be a lot of different plots going on from different character's points of view and each one of them does connect; for example, it'll go from the main character's point of view to the head of the pack and then to the hunter. This allows the comic to cover a range of topics that makes it that much more interesting. I HAVE TO WARN YOU: This comic will update one page at a time; not like other web comics where they'll update at least three or even five pages at a time. Along with that, there is no specific time that they update: so it could be a long time before the next page is given. This is probably the biggest flaw in the site, but please understand that the artists and authors are students so time is crunched.

Worth the Read: If you like fantasy and mythology, with a pinch of good humor, than I'd say YES! Yes, the pages take a while to upload, but there's quite a bit to catch up on as of currently as is. So as long as you can over look that, you'll enjoy it. However, if you do find that fantasy is not your not your fancy, than you may not enjoy this; only for that reason too. On my rate list, 10 being the best, I give it an 8! :)

If you want to read this comic, please visit this site! They are amazing and deserve a lot of credit!
